Sunday Brunch fans say "something's wrong" with Bob Mortimer and warned bosses "he's got a heart condition" after the TV legend was served up a dish that was smothered in butter.

The 65-year-old comedian appeared on the cooking programme this morning (November 3), alongside hosts Tim Lovejoy, , Made In Chelsea's Binky Felstead, Dragon's Den stalwart Deborah Meaden, Man Down's Mike Wozniak and singer Orla Gartland.

Bob, is best known for his TV role on Gone Fishing alongside his good friend Paul Whitehouse, was on the programme to promote his new book The Hotel Avocado, which is available for purchase now.

Viewers couldn't wait for the funnyman to be interviewed with hosts Tim and Simon but after his air-time had wrapped up they were left feeling incredibly worried that something seemed to be amiss.

Taking to , now known as X, fans penned concern, asking: "There seems to be something wrong with Bob. He doesn't seem himself #sundaybrunch," and "Bob is looking very distracted in this segment! #SundayBrunch."

One person demanded for his protection, writing: "#SundayBrunch Protect Bob at all costs. A national treasure. River King. Penman extraordinaire," as another said: "Bob looks like he’d rather be at home #sundaybrunch."

Another internet goer picked up on a " vibe" in the studio, wondering if the entire cast had been affected. They penned: "There's a weird vibe in the room today. Everyone is on edge, nothing is settled, and there's a burgeoning sense of irritated armageddon building. It's perfect #sundaybrunch."

Meanwhile, other TV goers were concerned for Bob's health after knowing he'd previously undergone life-saving heart surgery. Back in 2017, Bob revealed medics found 95% of his arteries had been blocked and he therefore needed to have a heart pump fitted to restore him to good health again.

As a result of the surgery, Bob vowed to overhaul his lifestyle and sticks to a Mediterranean diet. However, fans were left feeling incredibly anxious after Simon Rimmer served him up an incredibly buttery mash.

Simon boasted to viewers at home that he puts "one third of butter to potato," in order to achieve his highly desired smooth mash potato. He went on to serve this up to Bob in his very own mug.

Bob was happy with the dish and much to fans surprise began to tuck in, admitting that if he were to be "stranded on a an island" the only thing he would want would be "mash and a fried egg".

It is well known that butter is high in calories as well as saturated fat, both of which can lead to increased bad cholesterol levels and increase the risk of heart attack and stroke.

Fans who were brushed up on their food knowledge were extremely worried as Bob dug in in live on TV. Taking to social media to pen concern, one person warned: "Excellent side dish for a man with a serious heart condition - mash with a third of butter in it. #SundayBrunch," along with a rolling eyes emoji.

Sharing the very same sentiment, another followed up with a similar concerning comment: "Bob has a bad heart, don't kill him Simon #sundaybrunch."
