PM Kisan Samman Nidhi 21st Installment: Relief for Farmers Amid Floods and Heavy Rains
The Central Government has released the 21st installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, providing a major relief to farmers affected by recent floods and heavy rainfall. On October 7, 2025, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan transferred ₹170 crore directly into the bank accounts of 8.5 lakh farmers in Jammu and Kashmir, giving each beneficiary ₹2,000 under the scheme.
This move comes as part of the government’s continued efforts to support farmers who have suffered crop losses due to adverse weather conditions. Following the disbursement to farmers in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir became the fourth state to receive funds under the 21st installment phase.
Central Government’s Commitment to FarmersDuring the official release event, Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan emphasized that the government stands firmly with farmers in their time of need. He said,
“Farmers in border and hilly regions have been severely affected by natural calamities. This installment is an advance support to help them recover from their losses. Our Prime Minister is committed to ensuring no farmer is left behind.”
The minister also reiterated that the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi is one of the government’s most impactful welfare initiatives, ensuring financial stability for small and marginal farmers.

Previous Installments and Future DisbursementsIn August 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 20th installment of the scheme from Varanasi, crediting ₹20,500 crore to the accounts of 9.7 crore farmers across India. The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi continues to be a vital financial safety net, especially for farmers facing unpredictable weather patterns and market instability.
