Indore (Madhya Pradesh) [India], April 23 (ANI): In an unfortunate terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, a resident of Madhya Pradesh's Indore, who had travelled to Kashmir with his family, was killed, and his daughter sustained bullet injuries on Tuesday.
The Indore resident was identified as Sushil Nathaniel, who worked as a branch manager for LIC. He, along with his wife, Jenifer, his daughter Akanksha (around 30) and his son Ostin (around 22), went to Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, April 19.
After receiving information about the unfortunate incident, District Collector Ashish Singh visited the house of Sushil, located in Veena Nagar in the city on Wednesday, but it was locked. Thereafter, he reached his brother's house located in Prime City and assured the family of all the support from the administration.
Collector Singh told ANI, "Indore resident Sushil Nathaniel was killed in an unfortunate attack that happened in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Today, I visited his residence and also visited the residence where his family lives, meeting with his family members. We assured the family that we are in continuous touch with the local administration of Jammu and Kashmir, collecting information about the injured members of the family, and ensuring transport of the mortal remains. Local administration said that it was a minor injury and there was no need to worry about it."
"We are continuously in touch with the administration there. As soon as the family and mortal remains depart, we will inform the family here and ensure that there is no inconvenience. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is also keeping a close eye on the entire matter and continuously taking updates on every development in relation to the same," he added.
Meanwhile, the wife of Sushil's brother, Vikas, Jema Vikas, spoke to ANI and shared that they received information about the matter on Tuesday night at around 9:30 pm, after Sushil's son, Ostin, called them. Later, Sushil's wife, Jennifer, shared the details of the incident.
"Jenifer Bhabhi said that the terrorist asked Sushil bhaiya to recite Kalma on his knees, following which Bhaiya reciprocated that he was Christian, and Bhaiya told Bhabhi to move aside from there. In the meantime, the terrorist shot Bhaiya, and he died on the spot. Our niece, Akansha also sustained bullet injuries in her leg," Jema said.
"Additionally, Sushil's son Ostin informed them that they were going to the hospital in an Army vehicle. The bullet was removed, and first aid was given to his sister," she added.
"The terrorist targeted the gents; all of them were together, and Bhaiya asked Bhabhi to move aside. Thereafter, the terrorist asked Bhaiya and then shot him. We want the terrorists not to be spared; they should be searched and then punished so that such incidents should not occur again," Jema further said.
Sushil worked with LIC as a branch manager and was posted in Alirajpur. They went to Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, April 19. Akansha works at a bank in Surat as an officer. Ostin is a badminton player and also gives training to children, and Jenifer works as a school teacher, she added. (ANI)
