New Delhi: India's iron ore production for April-May increased by 0.6% to 53 million metric ton (mmt) from 52.7 mmt in the year-ago period, according to latest data released by the Ministry of Mines.
Total iron ore production was 289 mmt in FY25.
Manganese ore production has risen by 1.4% to 0.70 mmt in April-May from 0.69 mmt in the same period last fiscal. Bauxite production increased by 0.9% to 4.73 mmt while zinc concentrate production rose by 3.7% to 0.29 mmt and limestone production went up by 1.6% to 81.40 mmt in April-May FY26 compared with year-ago period.
In non-ferrous metals, primary aluminium production registered 1.3% growth in April-May this fiscal year to 7.07 lakh tonne (LT) from 6.98 LT in same period last fiscal. Copper production has also increased by 43.5% to 0.99 LT.
