Journey from Civil Services exam to stardom

Born on January 12, 1973, in Alwar, Rajasthan, Sakshi is the daughter of a retired CBI officer. She was academically bright and ambitious, planning to pursue civil services to fulfill her father’s aspirations, revealed it during her appearance at Kaun Banega Crorepati.

Before entering the industry, Sakshi had modest beginnings. According to several reports, she worked as a sales trainee at a five-star hotel and later at a clothing company, earning just Rs 900 per month. Acting was never her first choice, but her natural talent soon shone through. Her breakthrough came with Ekta Kapoor’s iconic show Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, where she portrayed Parvati Aggarwal, the ideal daughter-in-law trying to hold her joint family together. The show aired for eight years and carved Sakshi’s place in Indian households.

Following her success, she starred in other popular shows such as Kahaani Hamare Mahabharat Ki, Balika Vadhu, and Crime Patrol 2. In 2011, she paired with Ram Kapoor for Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, a show that quickly became a fan favourite and it's still is. Her performances have consistently showed her versatility and dedication to her craft.

Besides small screen, she also worked in several movies and series, including India's highest-grossing film of all-time Dangal.
