Karni Sena Workers Brandished Swords
The situation turned volatile when Karni Sena workers, brandishing swords and sticks, surrounded the police personnel deployed at the venue, as per reports. Although, law enforcement had reached the spot in anticipation of unrest, the protestors retaliated aggressively, forcing the police to withdraw temporarily.
Karni Sena Youth Wing National President Okendra Rana, told Dainik Bhaskar, "Even the administration will not be able to stop us from going to Suman's house. We will do our work, the administration will do its work. We are here fully prepared. We are not going to back down under any circumstances."
Tight Security Around MP Suman's Residence
In response to the threats, unprecedented security measures were put in place at MP Suman’s residence. A 1-km perimeter around his house was sealed, metal detectors were installed, and several police personnel were deployed along with 10 private bouncers for his safety, as per a report by Dainik Bhasker.
The flashpoint stems from Suman's controversial remarks made in the Rajya Sabha on March 21, where he had said, "Babur was brought to India by Rana Sanga to defeat Ibrahim Lodi... If Muslims are the descendants of Babur, then you (Hindus) are the descendants of the traitor Rana Sanga."
Meanwhile, in Etawah, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav defended Suman, saying, "This Sena-Vena is all fake. All of them are from BJP. If anyone insults our Ramji Lal Suman, we will be seen standing against them."
