Sendhwa (Madhya Pradesh): A 19-year-old boy died on the spot while 23 other wedding guests sustained critical injuries when the vehicle in which they were travelling turned turtle at 3:30 pm in Kadavarijira village, approximately 40 km from Sendhwa on Sunday.
The injured individuals include Rahul Guda, Surmal Ratan Singh, Mukesh Phugaria, Lala Jaitram, Mehandu Bai Nan Singh, Raju Amar Singh, Sanju Jetaria, Changa Rajaram among others. As per reports, all 24 members belong to the same family who were on way to attend a wedding procession in Jhapadi Padla.
Witnesses, including passenger Ramesh Deore said that the driver was distracted, listening to loud music on his mobile phone when he lost control over the wheels while navigating a hilly road. The injured were initially rushed to Chachariya Primary Health Centre with assistance of private vehicles and Dial 100.
Medical staff, including Dr Preetesh Barela and pharmacist Zuber Khan, provided first aid, while the seriously injured were referred to Sendhwa Civil Hospital.
Among the injured are four children, eight women and twelve men. Six individuals with severe injuries were sent to the district hospital, while four others are admitted to Chachariya hospital and are reported to be stable.
Local authorities, including Chachariya outpost in-charge Sanjay Sharma and district panchayat member Rajkala Solanki arrived at the scene. MLA Montu Solanki also contacted doctors to ensure proper treatment for the injured.
