Navi Mumbai: The Navi Mumbai police have filed a case against a man and his aged parents from Haryana for purportedly subjecting his wife to physical and mental abuse for dowry, an officer stated.
The woman, whose family resides in the Kharghar region of Navi Mumbai, filed a complaint against the three individuals, leading to an FIR being registered on July 14. According to the complaint, she experienced mistreatment by her husband and his parents from July 2019 to March 2025 at her marital home in Ambala, Haryana.

Importantly, these figures indicate reported incidents instead of the complete frequency of dowry customs. Specific North-East Indian states such as Assam and Meghalaya are traditionally acknowledged as areas without dowry.
