A sea of people gathered at Bagshala Maidan in Dombivli to pay their last respects to the three men who were killed in the Pahalgam terror attack. The Maidan witnessed an angry and emotional crowd chanting slogans of “Pakistan Murdabad” and “Hindustan Zindabad.”
A plea for justice was made to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who was present to honor the deceased. Fadnavis assured the crowd that stringent action would be taken against the perpetrators of the dastardly attack that had brutally claimed the lives of innocent tourists.
The Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation (KDMC) had arranged a community funeral for the three victims, who belonged to the same family and had jointly planned the trip to Kashmir. Preparations at Bagshala Maidan began early Wednesday morning. Local politicians took the lead in organizing the arrangements, while police security was significantly increased.

“Around 400 police personnel from the Ulhasnagar and Kalyan-Dombivli divisions were deployed to manage the crowd of over 3,000 people gathered to offer their condolences,” said Sachin Gore, DCP, Ulhasnagar.
While preparations continued at Bagshala Maidan, family members anxiously awaited the arrival of the bodies at their respective homes. After an entire day of waiting, the bodies of Hemant Joshi, Sanjay Lele, and Atul Mone arrived around 8:30 PM. Within half an hour, they were brought to the funeral venue.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and MP Shrikant Shinde were present at the funeral and assured the grieving families that justice would be served. “Justice will be done,” said the CM while addressing the families.
Meanwhile, overwhelmed by grief and anger, the family members pleaded with the CM, expressing their hope that he would be the one to ensure justice for the Hindu victims.
“The attackers were so brutal—they killed people after inquiring about their religion, which is unacceptable,” said a grieving relative.
After everyone paid their final respects, the bodies were taken to the crematorium in open vehicles. The families broke down in tears as their loved ones were taken away. As the bodies were carried away, the emotionally charged crowd once again raised slogans of “Pakistan Murdabad” and “Hindustan Zindabad.”
Meanwhile Rahul Damle, former corporator of Dombivali while addressing the Dombivali’s, pleaded for a ‘Dombivali Band’ on Thursday to express their grief over the terror attack.
