Ange Postecoglou was involved in an uncomfortable post-match interview on after 's 1-0 loss away at where he denied biting back at his own fans on a tense night at Stamford Bridge.
The under-fire Spurs chief saw his side produce a tepid performance in a crucial London derby, early in the second half. Both teams then had goals ruled out by VAR as things ramped up after the break towards a frantic finale.
's actions on the touchline caught the eye; Spurs fans let out a rendition of “You don’t know what you’re doing” at the Australian after he replaced Lucas Bergvall with Pape Sarr just after the hour mark. And he before the midfielder's goal was ruled out for an earlier foul.
The disallowed goal was the turning point in the interview when Postecoglou was asked if he agreed with the decision to disallow Sarr's goal after questioning whether VAR had, in fact, corrected a clear and obvious error.

He responded to Sky's Patrick Davison by saying: "Look Pat, you can try and force me into a corner," before continuing: "You are. Did you think last night was a red card? Clear and obvious? Yes, okay.
"How many minutes did it take this referee to figure out it was clear and obvious? In your basic knowledge of vocabulary, clear and obvious, what does that suggest to you. If you have to watch something quite a few times, is that clear and obvious?"
Davison then replied: "No, it's maybe not clear and obvious [but] I do think it was a foul, if I'm honest," to which Postecoglou retorted: "Right, there you go. So the referee didn't see it, he then needs to see it for six minutes, but he gets the right outcome so you're happy.
"That's why the game is going the way it is. I guess people like you will continue to be happy, sitting on your couches, waiting six minutes for clear and obvious stuff. I don't agree with it, but that's fine."
Postecoglou was then asked about the moment where he appeared to bite back at criticism from his own fans by cupping his ear towards them. But he seemed non-plussed when Davison asked him what happened, insisting there was nothing to it.
"I wanted the supporters to cheer," he said. "I thought it was a cracking goal. They’ve booed my substitutions before. It had nothing to do with them booing my substitutions."
