BBC Countryfile host Matt Baker issues update as shake-up confirmed

BBCCountryfile'sMatt Bakerhas revealed a shake-up to the upcoming episode of the popular programme.

The much-loved show, which airs on Sunday evenings and has been a staple for nearly four decades, boasts a rotating roster of presenters includingJohn Craven, Adam Henson, Helen Skelton, Sean Fletcher and Anita Rani.

In tonight's instalment, The One Show's Matt was joined by Charlotte Smith in Wrexham for The Supreme, an annual sheepdog competition.

However, midway through the programme, he dropped news about next week's episode, revealing that a special edition would be broadcast.

Matt declared: "Next week brings another big event, the Countryfile Ramble for BBC Children in Need," reports the Express.

A pre-recorded clip of John then aired, as he shared some details alongside Pudsey.

He said: "Let's get ready to Ramble. The Countryfile Ramble for BBC Children in Need 2025 will be on your screens on October 5th.

"And we're going to be rambling on a farm, that's great Pudsey, isn't it? A lot to see and do on a farm."

He advised viewers on how to donate and order special Countryfile Children in Need bobble hats, saying: "This year, Pudsey is asking you to challenge yourself and help us make life lighter for children.

"Only with your support can we continue to help to lighten the load for hundreds of thousands of children when they need us the most."

The BBC programme then shared a clip of a 16-year-old girl named Grace who is a young carer for her sister, and the life-changing impact Children in Need has had on her.

The episode will see Matt Baker, Anita Rani, Sean Fletcher, Joe Crowley and John Craven lace up their walking boots and explore the border of Shropshire and Staffordshire, hearing the stories of young people whose lives have been positively impacted by Children in Need along the way.

Together, they will meet some incredible young people who whose lives have been positively impacted by BBC Children in Need, sharing their stories in the special episode.

In recent weeks, John has been encouraging viewers to plan their own sponsored rambles: mapping out a route, recruiting fellow walkers and fundraising to support BBC Children in Need's vital work.

Now in its 11th year, Countryfile Ramble has raised £16.5m since it began in 2015.

He said: "The Countryfile Ramble is always such an uplifting experience. It's a chance to celebrate the courage and resilience of young people supported by BBC Children in Need and to come together as a community, step by step, to make a real difference.

"And with the ramble set amid a beautiful landscape, it's a powerful reminder of just what can be achieved while out enjoying a day in the countryside."
