Inside Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet's romance from secret dates to red carpet debut

The lovebirds turned heads at the 70th David di Donatello Awards on Wednesday, where they posed together for photographers at a high-profile photocall. While Timothée, 29, skipped the just days earlier, fans didn’t have to wait long to see the couple make their formal debut.

January 2023

Kylie Cosmetics mogul Kylie first met Bones And All actor Timothée when they both showed up to the same Jean Paul Gaultier fashion show in January 2023 for Paris Couture Week.

At the time, celebrity gossip page Deuxmoi shared a video of the two laughing together at the show. The duo also attended the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty in 2023 but were not seen together.

April 2023

Three months later, rumours started swirling about the status of their relationship after an insider claimed to Deuxmoi that they had been seeing each other for months.

According to the source, they started dating in January, which is around the same time as her breakup from Travis Scott, with whom she shares two children.

On April 16, Kylie's black Range Rover was snapped driving into the driveway of Timothée's Beverly Hills home. Soon after, a source claimed the duo went on a date to Tito's Tacos in Santa Monica a week before.

A source told they were "hanging out and getting to know each other". Another insider claimed it was still early on in their relationship.

Speaking to , they explained: "Kylie has only hung out with Timothée a couple of times, so things aren't that serious. However, she's enjoying getting to know him better and is open to seeing where things go.

"Timothée is a total gentleman and treats [Kylie] with respect. He's very charming and he makes her laugh, and he's easy to talk to. He's not like any of the other guys she's dated before."

May 2023

At that point in their romance, a source spoke to and revealed they were "casually seeing each other" and wanted to "keep it low-key".

Kylie's famous family reportedly already met him and approved of the actor. However, an insider claimed Kylie was prioritising her children. "Kylie enjoys dating, but her main focus is being a mom," the source told .

June 2023

Kylie and Timothée were finally snapped together in June, with Kylie seen arriving at his home. In snaps shared online, they walked side-by-side while holding drinks. A source at the time said they spent "upwards of six days a week" hanging out.

September 2023

Finally, in September, fans got confirmation of their romance when they were spotted at multiple events. At the beginning of the month, they attended a Beyoncé concert at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles and were seen making out.

Many stars were in attendance at the iconic concert, including Kylie's sister Kendall, , Kelly Rowland and Kerry Washington.

A few days later, Kylie ad Timothée were at New York Fashion Week, with Kylie joining him as a plus one for an event celebrating Haider Ackermann’s beauty collaboration with Augustinus Bader.

Their public appearances didn't end there as the couple were later seen on a cosy date at the Arthur Ashe Stadium for the US Open men's finals. They were in their own as they kissed and held hands.

October 2023

In October, Timothée sat down for an interview with and insinuated he was "falling in love" with the reality star. However, he wished to have a private life despite being an A-list actor.

Interviewer Daniel Riley joked that Timothée shouldn't be spending time with one of the four most-followed people on if he wished to have a private life. The actor replied: "This reminds me of that recent South Park episode with the Worldwide Privacy Tour."

He added: "You've got to have the experiences in your personal life that are usable to you. The experiential rush of my career taking off was so new to me that those were the experiences that were feeding my work for a while. But you’ve got to have real experiences. Human experiences. You’ve got to fall in love."

November and December 2023

Timothée was the perfect supportive partner as he joined Kylie at the WSJ Magazine 2023 Innovator Awards, where she was honoured.

They weren't snapped together on the red carpet but sat side-by-side at the event. They even wore matching black outfits as Kylie received the magazine's Brand Award.

In December, a source revealed Kylie started calling him her boyfriend after months of "casually seeing each other".

A source told People that Timothée was "in awe of everything she is accomplishing" and "especially thinks she is an amazing mom." They added: "He is very good for Kylie. Since dating him, she seems very content, relaxed, and focused. Her family loves him."

January to March 2024

In January, they made their Golden Globes debut as a couple as Kylie was seen sitting next to her beau at the prestigious awards show.

The two packed on the PDA as they stole quick kisses. At one point, Kylie ran her hand across his suit jacket as they watched the event unfold.

When taking part in a chat with in March, Kylie shut down a question about her relationship with Timothée. When asked whether her new "clean girl" aesthetic was influenced by her romance with the actor, she said: "I just don't want to talk about personal things."

May to August 2024

The couple were hit with rumours that they went their separate ways after not being pictured together for several months. However, a source denied the claims and told : "Kylie and Timothée are still seeing each other and happy."

"They don’t need to try to make things work and it just comes naturally to them. Their relationship is easy. They make an effort to see each other when they can and stay in touch when they’re not geographically close to one another. They're in constant and fluid communication. They see a long-lasting relationship together.”

By July, there were seen on several more low-key dates, with a source telling People: "Things are great with Timothée. Kylie is happy. They are both busy, but making time to see each other, especially on the weekends. He’s been working in NYC. She’s visited him, and he’s also been back to L.A. some weekends. They’re making it work.”

Kylie briefly discussed her private life in an interview with British Vogue. She said: "Privacy is so important to me in life."

December 2024

Kylie and Timothée's relationship was stronger than ever, with the two pictured together at multiple events. They even enjoyed a early holiday with Kylie's children, Stormi and Aire.

A source told : “They had a really nice dinner together with Kylie’s family, and they drove around to look at lights. The kids had a really magical time, and Kylie and Timothée made some very special memories together.”

Although they didn't spend Christmas together, it was said Timothée bought her and her children gifts, which Kylie "thought was so sweet".

Not long after an insider claimed to that the actor gets on well with her kids. “It took Kylie a long time to introduce him to her kids,” the insider said. “He’s part of the family now though. Her kids know him as a ‘friend.’”

February to March 2025

Awards season saw the couple in the spotlight more than ever. With Timothée up for awards for his role in A Complete Unknown, Kylie was seen sitting right by his side at the prestigious events.
