Jake Paul previously revealed the rules for a potential showdown with Gervonta Davis - with his comments now resurfacing after their fight was confirmed.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer had been tipped to fight Anthony Joshua next year and even revealed that the clash would take place at Wembley Stadium. Joshua was handed a real blow on Wednesday afternoon after the official Netflix Turkiye account revealed that Paul will be taking on 'Tank' Davis on November 15 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
That said, the post was quickly deleted before it was later confirmed by Ring Magazine. Earlier this year, Paul claimed that a fight between him and Davis was close to being made official. Speaking on the Ariel Helwani Show, Paul remarked: "That was on the one yard as well, but he has to rematch Lamont Roach. "He wants to get that back. Then we will be back in discussions with Mr. Gervonta. But this is the nature of boxing, you have massive fights on the one-yard line and then they fall through."
Many are scratching their heads as to how the fight could possibly go ahead seeing that Davis is five stone lighter than his rival. Paul revealed back in May that it would be sanctioned as an exhibition bout. The 28-year-old - primarily a cruiserweight - moved back down from heavyweight in his last fight - a decision win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Davis, meanwhile, is naturally a super lightweight (140lbs), and would have to bulk up as much as possible.

The 28-year-old social media sensation confirmed the rules, stating: “It would be an exhibition, 10 three-minute rounds. No restrictions, just the fact we couldn’t actually get it professionally sanctioned.” When asked what weight the clash would be contested at, the 'Problem Child' replied: "195."
Paul added: "I never really thought Tank was that good, it just took the right fighter to pick him apart to be honest. Someone who had high activity and wasn't afraid of his power. So, I always saw so many holes in his game, to me it wasn't that surprising that someone finally gave him some good work."
Paul's older brother Logan famously fought Floyd Mayweather back in 2021, and reporter Mike Coppinger believes fans could see something similar in November in terms of the rules. In a post uploaded to X - formerly known as Twitter - he wrote: "When Floyd Mayweather faced Jake’s brother Logan in an exhibition, Mayweather couldn’t weigh more than 160 while Logan was capped at 190. Would expect some similar exhibition rules for weigh in here."
In a separate tweet, he recapped the huge breaking news, posting: "Gervonta Davis was slated for a title fight rematch with Lamont Roach in August while Jake Paul was in talks for a major step-up against Anthony Joshua, the former heavyweight champion. Instead, they will meet each other in what amounts to a show that will no doubt do big business, but is less fighting than it is entertainment given the weight disparity and exhibition rules."
