A pregnant woman has criticised easyJet, claiming she was refused boarding to a flight with her young child after an argument over baggage and charges, during which she called a staff member "twisted".
Ceállach Reid was travelling from Bristol Airport to Belfast with the low-cost airline when the incident happened on August 25. The Irish folk singer said she had visited her family in England with her two-year-old son, but while on her way back home, an easyJet staff member raised an issue with her hand luggage, saying it would need to go in the hold and she would be charged for it.
While the passenger said she disputed the issue with the airport worker, she agreed to pay the charge after the bag didn't fit in the holder. However, Ceállach said she was also informed that her son's buggy would not be allowed on the plane either, something she disagreed with as she had previously brought it on other planes.

It was at this point, Ceállach said, that she called the member of staff "twisted" due to having to repeatedly give over a boarding pass to be scanned, Belfast Live reports. The passenger, who took to TikTok to share her experience, claimed she was then told she wouldn't board the plane until the very end - so she decided to call her sister to inform her of what had happened.
The passenger claimed that while she was on the phone, the staff member, who was attending the gate with other workers, told her she would not be boarding the plane as she "needed to learn some manners." Ceállach claims she pleaded with the staff to let her and her child board the plane, but they refused and told her she would have to book another flight.
The mum described the experience as "horrendous" and said she was "physically shaking" just trying to retell what happened to her. EasyJet has said that it is looking into the circumstances surrounding the claims, and that it understands further remarks may have been made towards staff. It has said it is in contact with Ceállach to understand what has taken place.
A spokesperson for the airline said: "We know how important it is to make flying as easy as possible for our customers travelling with children and so we advise that customers with children under five can bring two items of extra luggage for free in the hold including a pram, or this can travel in the cabin if it is booked and fits within the dimensions of a large cabin bag.
"While Ms Reid was correctly advised about her luggage at the gate and we do not tolerate abusive language towards our staff, in light of her feedback we are looking into what happened with our ground handling provider at Bristol Airport and are in contact with her to understand more about her experience."
