Usher's Past Present Future World Tour continues to bring out a host of stars. The US singer songwriter is currently midway through a host of gigs at London's 02 Arena with his critically acclaimed set.
With everyone from Naomi Campbell to Loose Women's Judi Love being spotted in the audience over the last week, was the latest big name to catch the tour. Wayne cut a casual look as he stepped into the spotlight at Usher’s show on Saturday. He kept it low-key in a dark green long-sleeve polo, blue trousers, and grey trainers, grinning as he was spotted in the crowd among fans.
But the spotlight wasn’t just on Wayne – UK garage favourite Craig David even made a surprise appearance on stage, joining Usher for an unexpected duet. For Craig, it was a full-circle moment, as he’s been a huge fan of Usher’s talent for decades. Their surprise performance came just weeks after he had wrapped up his own successful Commitment tour. The In Your Hands singer, 43, kicked off with his iconic hit, Fill Me In, and he and Usher, 49, also took to the stage for a special duet of 7 Days.
David shared his excitement and gratitude for the moment, confessing: “It was a full-circle moment and such a beautiful thing. Having grown up listening to Usher, from his early work, I was like, wow. What an incredible voice, what an amazing artist, he has such a unique voice.
Continuing, he said: "So it was such a beautiful moment when I got the call because to have just been performing at the O2 on my arena tour, to then get the call up a few weeks later from Usher - what a way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of 'Born To Do It', my first album.
Craig added: "I'm such a huge fan of Usher, so it felt like a full-circle moment to have an opportunity to go on stage and perform two of the songs from that first album, which was beautiful.”
The music star first burst onto the scene with his critically acclaimed debut album, Born To Do It, which instantly made him one of the UK’s favorite artists. That record helped bring Garage music into the mainstream, and since then, Craig’s stayed true to his unique, British sound.
Over the years, he’s become a global star, shaping the music scene and cementing himself as one of the most successful UK artists in chart history.
