PM Modi gave free hand to the army
According to sources, many big decisions were taken in this meeting which lasted for about one and a half hours. PM Modi has given a free hand to the army. He said that it is our firm national resolve to give a befitting reply to terrorism. He expressed full faith in the professional capabilities of the Indian armed forces. PM Modi said that the armed forces have a free hand to take operational decisions like what should be the method of our retaliation, what should be its targets and what should be its timing.
The PM had said that terrorists would be given severe punishment
The terrorist attack on April 22 at Baisaran, a popular tourist spot in Pahalgam, killed 26 people, most of them tourists. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for pursuing the terrorists involved in the attack and their masters to the ends of the earth and giving them the harshest punishment beyond their imagination.
Pahalgam terrorists will be held accountable
The Prime Minister's harsh comments and his government's tough stand on national security issues have raised expectations of retaliation from India. After the Pahalgam attack, India has taken several steps against Pakistan, including suspending the Indus Water Treaty with the neighbouring country.
After the Pahalgam attack, the armed forces have been put on high alert, with specific units along the Line of Control and the International Border put in operational readiness mode. Surveillance drones, satellite imagery and electronic intercepts are closely monitoring terror launchpads in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK).
