1. Wheel Brakes

The tires on the landing gear of a jet plane have disc brakes, just like those in cars, that help stop the plane when it lands on the runway. These brakes are often made of carbon-ceramic or steel so that they can stop a heavy aircraft traveling at high speeds and can withstand high heat.

2. Reverse thruster

Reverse thrust is a special technique of jet engines, which helps to slow down jet planes quickly. Immediately after landing, the pilots turn the engine thrusters in the reverse direction so that the air force can push the plane backwards. This technique reduces the speed of the plane quickly and reduces the pressure on the brakes on the runway.

3. Aerodynamic brakes (spoiler)

There are parts called spoilers on the wings of the plane, which obstruct the flow of air and slow down the jet plane. These spoilers rise up on the wings during landing, which increases the air resistance and slows down the speed of the plane. Aerodynamic brakes are also used while landing on the runway, so that the plane can stop quickly.

4. Anti-skid (ABS) system

Jet planes also have an anti-skid system, which automatically controls the friction of the tires so that the tires do not slip when braking. This system works just like the anti-lock braking system (ABS) in cars, and maintains the stability of the jet plane during landing.

5. Hydraulic system

The brakes of a jet plane are operated by hydraulic power, which makes them more powerful and quick to respond. Due to the hydraulic system, the pilot can easily control the jet plane even with little force. The braking system of a jet plane is very important, especially during landing. The combination of reverse thruster, wheel brakes, and aerodynamic brakes stops the jet plane safely and quickly.
