It's been eight years since Bridget Jones's Baby, which concluded with Renée Zellweger's titular character getting hitched to Colin Firth's Mark Darcy after having a baby with him.
But having initially been thought killed, the film concluded with a newspaper headline revealing that Hugh Grant's Daniel Cleaver was, in fact, alive.
Now Bridget Jones 4 has arrived, adapting the novel Mad About the Boy, and the new trailer has revealed tragedy.
Firth's Darcy does appear, but only in flashbacks because he has, in fact, died, leaving Bridget a widow with kids.
Nevertheless, alongside a returning Cleaver, it looks like she has some new suitors.
There's Chiwetel Ejiofor's Mr Wallaker, a teacher at Bridget's children's school, but also Leo Woodall who plays Roxster, her 29-year-old tomboy.
The upcoming rom-com also features returning franchise cast members including Emma Thompson, Jim Broadbent, Gemma Jones and Sally Phillips.
Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy is released in UK cinemas on February 13, 2024.
