star Mickey Rourke had been branded a "loose cannon with no filter" for years after he reportedly pursued TV show opportunities in the UK for a decade, it has been alleged. A source has claimed that bosses had received a warning before signing him over his unpredictable behaviour - and that they knew sparks could fly.
It was claimed beforehand that he was "risky" and a "liability" - and he has certainly caused a stir, with his conservative upbringing in Southern USA clashing with modern personalities on the show, such as a lesbian with a non-binary partner and a drag queen. A source published in has now elaborated: "Loads of people in the TV industry had meetings with Mickey going back as far as ten years ago, but each time it was decided he was too much of a liability to have on UK reality shows. He's had zoom meetings and in person meetings in LA, but every time it didn't work out as he's such a loose cannon with no filter.
"He was way too risky for a lot of people to take a chance on," the source continued.
"It was common knowledge in the industry and people would have warned - nobody is surprised how he's acting in the CBB house."
The BAFTA-winning actor, who is also a former Oscar nominee, was known as a "Hollywood heart-throb" in his day - but now the 72-year-old is being met with opposition.
