Jamie Oliver has unveiled a sizzling new trick to rescue your limp, lifeless greens, turning them into flavour-packed stars of the dinner table - and all you need is an air fryer. The beloved TV chef has revealed his newfound method for cooking greens, promising to transform them from afterthought to centrepiece thanks to the UK's favourite kitchen gadget.
More than half of British households own an air fryer, and the countertop appliance has reinvigorated the culinary passion in the most novice of home cooks. "Over 50% of households have got an air fryer. They did a survey and they said 80% of what's cooked in them is chips," Jamie claimed on ITV's Lorraine show, adding, "So I think my job is to sort of say, okay, Britain, come on. Let me show you this technology." The restaurateur has released his latest cookbook, 'Easy Air Fryer', which is jam-packed with inventive recipes and clever hacks that go far beyond frozen fries to help Brits fall in love with cooking - particularly veg.
"We all know we should eat more greens," he said, as reported by Saga Magazine.
"They're packed with fibre, vitamins, and antioxidants-but they're often cooked in ways that strip away their character."
His latest tip is designed to change that, making veg not just healthy, but the tastiest part of your meals.
And when it comes to speed, convenience, and flavour, Jamie says the air fryer is hard to beat. "It's a super useful piece of cooking equipment," he explained.
"Yes, there are things it can't do-but there's so much more that it can, and that's what I'm interested in."
So what's the trick to turning your greens into a flavour-packed sensation? Jamie's advice is surprisingly simple and it starts with doing absolutely nothing to them at all.

"Take any green veg, like Brussels sprouts, purple sprouting broccoli, mange tout, French beans, asparagus, and hit them hard and fast at a high heat with nothing on them," he recommends.
"Only once they're cooked do you dress them with oil, lemon and chopped chilli, and they'll suck up all of that delicious flavour.
"It's a really dynamic, quick, convenient way to cook veg."
Your greens will soak up every drop of flavour and taste "dynamic, quick, and convenient," according to Oliver.
The celeb chef also encourages air fryer owners to use their appliance for cooking soups, stating, "Most of the soup that we buy in tins or in Tetra Paks has been essentially simmered and boiled. It's never had caramelisation from frying, because the commercial vessels can't do it, and they've not been roasted.
"When you roast veggies, you get extra, like surround-sound flavour, and then you put the liquid in, and the air fryer can do it.
"Then you can puree it, or keep it chunky, and you get soups like you've never, ever tasted before."
