A massive police cordon has been thrown up in Leicester city centre tonight following shocking reports of a brutal stabbing incident that saw dozens of officers and sniffer dogs swarm the scene.
Terrified residents reported hearing chilling shouts of "armed police" ringing out as the horrifying events unfolded just hours ago.
Leicestershire Police have yet to confirm the exact circumstances of the incident, which locals claim was a vicious knife attack.
The streets around Alexander Street in the city centre are now completely sealed off by the huge police perimeter, which was dramatically extended a few hours after the reported stabbing, at around 10.30pm.
