
The M6 is partially closed in both directions after a crash, as drivers face six miles of congestion.
National Highways said two lanes of the road's northbound route have been closed after the incident between junction 27 at Wigan and junction 28 at Leyland.
The road authority added that the closure comes so "central reservation replacement works" can take place "after a collision early this morning".
