She might only be 18, but tennis star Mirra Andreeva seemingly isn't afraid to confront her more experienced rivals in public. The Russian, who reached the semi-finals of the last year, is already inside the world's top 10 and is being touted as a future star of the sport.
Her latest impressive showing at the Italian Open ended . Regardless, the teenager clearly enjoyed herself in Rome. Footage has emerged on social media of her approaching her fellow professional Donna Vekic in the canteen area at the tournament venue, before conducting an impromptu interview with the Croatian.
"Hello, what are you eating?" she asked, while holding a microphone up to Vekic. After laughing, the 28-year-old explained she had ordered white fish and spinach, to which Andreeva replied: "That's healthy, how do you manage to look so great after matches?"
That question prompted more chuckling from her interviewee, who then explained that she went to the hairdresser every two or three days to maintain her look. However, Vekic, who was beaten in the first round by Bianca Andreescu, wasn't allowed to sit down there.
Instead, Andreeva continued the questions, pressing world No.19 on her plans for the rest of the day. She replied, "Have lunch, do some treatment, and then go and eat some pasta."
Eventually, the youngster allowed her to leave and sit down, signing off with, " OK, thank you for your time. Go and join your friends and have a good time."
Andreeva is already developing into a charismatic character on the WTA Tour. Earlier this week, in an interview with Garbine Muguruza on the Tennis Channel, she revealed her ambition to be an extra in a Taylor Swift music video.
"I like her music, and I think that it's pretty energetic, so I would just be having fun in the background," she said. "I love to dance, but I'm bad at it. I don't know if I'll mess up the whole video."
