Another classic SEGA series has been announced for the Nintendo Switch 2.
After making its PC debut earlier this year, Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O has been announced for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2.
While there's no official release date, Virtua Fighter 5 REVO will come to consoles with additional updates and enhancements.
The news was announced as part of a recent VF Direct presentation, alongside news of a new character joining the next game.
Likewise, the next game will feature rollback code for a smooth online experience, as well as cross-platform multiplayer.
"Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O gives players the definitive fighting experience in their quest to become the world's best fighter, including the game's first balance adjustments in 13 years along with rollback netcode support, allowing players to enjoy smoother, more heated online battles with other challengers on different platforms around the world," reads a SEGA statement.
"Furthermore, multiple additional content updates are currently in the works, with details to be announced at a later date."
In addition to the announcement of Virtua Fighter 5, it was confirmed that Wolf Hawkfield will be playable in the next game.
Described as the "Ultimate Edition" of the popular fighting game, REVO adds Rollback Netcode support for smooth online play, as well as 4K visuals with new and improved high-resolution textures.
It features 19 playable characters, each with their own unique fighting styles and customisation options.
According to the gameplay trailer, this includes new balance changes and the return of popular moves and techniques from the past.
Modes include Rank Match, Arcade, Training, and Versus, as well as brand new 16-person online modes like Tournaments and League play.
