Prayagraj: Four mobile snatchers, wanted in connection with separate mobile snatching cases, were arrested by a team of Handia police on Monday. The police have also recovered five looted mobile sets, two tablets and two bikes from their possession.
The arrested mobile snatchers, identified as Piyush Pandey (27), Rajnish Pandey alias Golu (24), Shani alias Ved Prasad Yadav (24) and Ayush Pandey (22), were residents of Handia. Cops said the miscreants used to target gullible victims, including delivery boys, at deserted locations in the afternoon hours in trans-Ganga localities. They used to snatch victim's mobiles, cash, and valuables. The snatchers then shared the booty after selling the looted articles at nominal prices. Police also said all four had criminal records, and 4 to 6 criminal cases were pending against them.
