AHMEDABAD: With heightened security measures in force across India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International airport in Ahmedabad issued a fresh advisory urging passengers to arrive well ahead of departure.
The move came as 27 airports across India, including key terminals in the north and west, were shut amid national security-related airspace restrictions.
"We request all passengers to factor in additional time for security checks and arrive early to ensure a smooth travel experience," the airport stated on Friday, following an alert from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) late on Thursday.
Flight disruptions continued into Friday with cancellations affecting departures to Jodhpur, Bhuj and Chandigarh, and arrivals from Jodhpur and Belgaum.
