Jaisalmer: Multiple missiles and drones launched from Pakistan were intercepted and destroyed by Indian Armed Forces in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer and Barmer districts early Saturday morning. The attacks, which began late Friday night and continued until noon Saturday, occurred just hours before a ceasefire was announced.

Residents across multiple districts reported loud explosions and bright flashes throughout the night, with at least eight missile fragments and drone debris later recovered from residential areas and fields. The debris was found scattered across Jaisalmer, Barmer and neighbouring Balotra districts.

In the Pareu area of Balotra district, locals reported a significant explosion at 4:45am Saturday, accompanied by intense light that lasted approximately 10 minutes.

A large missile-like object, measuring 10-15 feet, was discovered in the area, prompting immediate response from local authorities. Jodhpur Range IG Vikas Kumar confirmed the incident, stating that the area was secured by army and air force personnel.

The impact of these attacks was particularly notable in Jaisalmer's Bhagu village, where a missile created a 10-foot wide and 2-foot deep crater around 4:30am Saturday. Similar incidents were reported near Jamla village, where missile debris damaged local fencing and a house, though no casualties were reported.

In the Pokhran region of Jaisalmer district, missile parts were recovered from four different locations, including areas near Veermdevra, Ugras villages and Ramdeora police station. Additional debris was found near Dhadu village and in Sankra and Mandwa areas. Throughout the attacks, district administrations maintained high alert, with sirens blaring through the night.
