After domestic dispute, man jumps into canal, dies

Kanpur: Around 5pm Thursday, a 45-year-old man died after jumping into a canal after a dispute at home.

Kunwar Bahadur Singh, a resident of Shankarganj Jhinjhak, got into an argument under the influence of alcohol and left the house. He then went to the canal bridge and jumped into it. People nearby were alarmed and immediately informed the police.

Laxman Singh, the in-charge of Jhinjhak outpost, arrived at the scene and, without delay, risked his life by jumping into the canal. The villagers also joined in the search for the man. Despite strong water currents making it difficult to locate him, after two hours of relentless effort, the police and locals finally found Singh's body.

Medical examination was conducted, and doctors declared him dead .

A video of the entire incident has gone viral on social media. The family mentioned that he often caused disputes at home under the influence of alcohol. Outpost incharge Laxman Singh said that autopsy was conducted and currently, investigation is underway.
