Woman found dead on terrace of home in Farrukhabad

Kanpur: A suspicious death case has surfaced in Shanti Nagar Pajaba, Farrukhabad, where Rekha's body was discovered hanging from the roof railing on Thursday morning. The family of the deceased has levelled murder allegations against her in-laws.

Rekha (31), hailing from Gotia, Allahganj, Shahjahanpur, was married to Ravi, a painter from Shanti Nagar Pajaba, who lives with his two brothers. The wedding took place 11 years ago. Following their dinner on Wednesday night, the couple retired to sleep on the roof. The next morning, Rekha was found hanging from the railing.

Police and forensic teams arrived to collect evidence before sending the body for autopsy.

Rekha's father Lakhan Singh and his wife have accused her in-laws of murdering their daughter. City circle officer (CO) Aishwarya Upadhyay said preliminary investigation suggests suicide, though actual cause will be ascertained after autopsy reports are out. No official complaint has been registered thus far, the CO added.

Sources indicate there was a disagreement between the couple prior to the incident. Police are exploring multiple angles as part of investigation. Rekha leaves behind two children, Prince and Rohan.
