NEW DELHI: A 15-year-old girl consumed poison after being scolded by her mother for spending too much time on her mobile phone and died during treatment in in Ambernath in Maharashtra's Thane district, police said on Monday.
The girl consumed rat poison on September 26 and was immediately taken to a local hospital.
As her condition worsened, she was transferred to a hospital in Mumbai, where she died on October 2, according to an official from the Ambernath police station.
Following the medical report, the police registered a case of accidental death on Saturday.
