The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will close the seat resignation window for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2025 counselling round 1 today, August 25. This deadline applies to candidates allotted seats in the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) courses. Meanwhile, registrations for NEET UG 2025 counselling round 2 will begin on August 29.
MCC NEET UG counselling 2025 : Seat resignation for Round 1
Students who were allotted seats in round 1 but wish to withdraw and participate in the upcoming rounds must complete the resignation process online by the end of the day. The resignation letter can be downloaded directly from the official MCC portal.
Earlier, the committee had extended the seat resignation deadline to August 25 following several requests from candidates. Importantly, candidates who resign by the deadline will not lose their security deposit.

- Those who have not yet received their seat confirmation letter should get in touch with the college allotted to them under NEET UG 2025 counselling round 1.
- As per MCC guidelines, both admissions and resignations can only be completed in online mode. Any offline resignation of seats will not be accepted.
- Candidates must download the allotment letter from the MCC website. The security deposit will be refunded to the same bank account from which it was initially paid by the candidate.
- With the seat resignation process concluding today, candidates planning to participate in the second round of NEET UG 2025 counselling should ensure timely completion of formalities.
