Salman Khan’s 'Sikandar' has experienced a sharp dip in its box office performance, 20 days after its theatrical release. The action-packed drama, which hit cinemas on Eid to tap into the festive crowd, had a solid start with an opening day collection of Rs. 26 crore. However, despite the initial boost and the advantage of the Good Friday holiday, the film’s momentum has slowed considerably. Over its 21-day run, 'Sikandar' has managed to collect just over Rs. 110 crore (India Net) , signalling a noticeable decline in its box office trend.
Earning Rs. 9 lakh on day 21
Salman Khan’s 'Sikandar' continues to struggle at the box office as its fourth week progresses. According to early estimates and media reports, the film was expected to earn around Rs. 15 lakh on its 21st day. However, as per Sacnilk, 'Sikandar' managed to collect only Rs. 9 lakh on Day 21. Interestingly, this figure was still slightly higher than its earnings on the previous day, when it made just Rs. 6 lakh on its third Friday.
Tough competition
'Sikandar', despite its strong opening of Rs. 26 crore, is now struggling at the box office as its occupancy rates in theatres continue to decline. The film is currently witnessing an average of less than 10% audience across its 479 remaining shows.
The action-packed thriller, which marked Salman Khan’s comeback to the big screen, is facing stiff competition from the highly anticipated 'Kesari Chapter 2' and Sunny Deol’s 'Jaat', further contributing to its reduced box office collections.
