Tiger captured eating grass after feasting on THIS poisonous animal– watch the viral video

In a rare and unexpected moment inside Uttar Pradesh’s Pilibhit Tiger Reserve, a tiger was recorded eating a python and then vomiting shortly after. The incident, witnessed by a group of safari tourists and captured on camera, has since gone viral and prompted forest authorities to investigate the unusual behaviour.

Such events are not commonly seen in the wild, especially involving apex predators like tigers. The short video clip has now sparked discussions among wildlife experts, drawing attention to animal instincts, food habits, and forest monitoring practices.

Tiger spots snake carcass, begins feeding
During a routine safari inside the reserve, the tiger was seen calmly crossing a forest trail before pausing near a bushy patch. A dead python was lying along the edge of the road. The tiger approached it slowly, inspected the carcass by pawing at it, and then began to eat it.

The incident was recorded from a safe distance by tourists, who were initially excited to get a clear view of the animal but soon found themselves witnessing something far more unusual than expected.

Sudden discomfort followed by grass-eating

Moments after feeding on the snake, the tiger appeared uneasy. It stopped eating, moved aside, and began chewing on nearby grass. This behaviour, though rare, is not entirely unheard of among big cats. According to online sources, carnivores may consume grass when experiencing digestive discomfort or in an attempt to induce vomiting. Not long after eating the grass, the tiger reportedly vomited, suggesting that the snake carcass may have caused physical distress.

Was the python hunted or already dead?

One major question that remains unanswered is whether the tiger actively hunted the python or found it dead. Based on the available footage, there are no visible signs of a struggle, leading many to believe that the snake was already lifeless when the tiger found it. Either way, feeding on a reptile like a python is not typical tiger behaviour, making this incident particularly noteworthy for wildlife researchers and forest staff.

Forest officials begin inquiry, monitoring tiger’s health

According to a report presented by The Free Press Journal, the PTR officials are stepping up their response after the recent events. As reported by Amar Ujala, they’ve urgently brought together safari drivers and guides for a detailed discussion on what went wrong and how to prevent it in the future. Alongside this, they’ll be closely reviewing surveillance footage and strengthening wildlife monitoring efforts to ensure better control and safety within the reserve.

Similar unusual sightings spark broader interest

Interestingly, this isn’t the first unusual tiger sighting from the region to catch public attention. As per The Free Press Journal, just days earlier, a separate photo of a tiger carrying what appeared to be a bag in its mouth surfaced online. Although unrelated, both incidents have reignited conversations about animal behaviour and forest safety measures.
