How to get unstable molecules for costume color customization in Marvel Rivals

Send Push
NetEase Games is going to launch a total of 10 skins in the recently released Season 2: Hellfire Gala in Marvel Rivals , among them two are absolutely for free. So, there is no doubt that the skin lineup in the game is right now jam packed and exciting. However, the excitement level is going to get to newer heights with the April 17 update.

Yesterday, Marvel Rivals added an interesting feature with which, you can customize the colors of the skin. But there is a catch. You might have to pull your pocket to use this feature in the game, which might be a bit frustrating. Along with this new feature, the Zombie Doctor Strange skin from Multiverse of Madness and the Penir Perker Yatsukahagi skin will be added by this recent update.

What is costume color customization in Marvel Rivals

As the name suggests, this feature will allow players to recolor their favorite skins of their favorite heroes in the games. However, as the feature has just been rolled out, color customization is only available with Magik, Winter Soldier, Lune Show, and Psylocke. Although, more palettes will be added to all the other skins in near future once the feature comes out in full version.

At first, most gamers thought that the colors of the different costumes in Marvel Rivals would be bundled to the skins. For instance, purchasing a legendary skin would grant access to all of its color schemes. Although the release from NetEase Games stated that in order to utilize the feature, players would need to go to the in-game store, some people took this to mean that they would only need to pay for the skins and not the color variations. But that’s not the case. Players need to buy a new currency type called unstable molecules .

How to get unstable molecules in Marvel Rivals

The fact that NetEase has found out an interesting way of monetizing its in-game resources is already pretty frustrating. But the more frustrating fact is that getting these unstable molecules will need you to spend real money out of your pocket. As of now, the only way of getting unstable molecules is by exchanging lattice at 1:1 exchange ratio. A single recolor needs 600 unstable molecules, that means 600 lattice goes out of the drain.

When you finish your lattice exchanging for unstable molecules, you will need to buy more lattice, and that’s where you will need real money. In order to get a 1000-lattice or a 100+500 lattice pack, you will need to spend $9.99 or $5.98 respectively. However, NetEase has assured us that there will be more ways to earn unstable molecules in Season 3, and we hope it won’t be another monetization trap.
