“I took a couple of sticks in the face,” Brady Tkachuk returned only to leave the game midway for precautionary reasons

After a long absence due to recovery from an upper-body injury, Brady Tkachuk came to play against the Carolina Hurricanes on April 17. But took a couple of sticks in the face in the second period of the game. TSN’s Postmedia hockey columnist, Bruce Garrioch was the first one to share about the Ottawa Senators ’ captain on his X, “Brady Tkachuk is out for the rest of the game for precautionary reasons #Sens.”

The captain came. Took a couple of sticks in the face. The captain left. Why? He’s now preparing for a much more important game. Preparing for the Battle of Ontario against the Toronto Maple Leafs! Game 1 of the 2025 NHL playoffs!

Talking to the media at the post-game conference, Brady Tkachuk said, "It was obviously precautionary. I took a couple of sticks in the face." He continued, "The plan was that I wasn't going to play much tonight, just get my legs underneath me.”

Brady Tkachuk says it was just precautionary, "That was a Greener, doctors, and trainer decision. I got everything I needed tonight. I felt good. It was just precautionary. Nothing to worry about."

When the media asked, “So you will be able to play Game 1?”

"No issues," said Brady Tkachuk. And we can’t wait for Sunday to come already? The excitement is only building up! As much as we wanted to know who would sit on the Game of Thrones - Iron Throne! We so did not expect Brandon Stark to do that.

Likewise, fans want the Ottawa Senators to win the Battle of Ontario and sit on the Ontario Throne! “BRING ON THE PLAYOFFS BABYYYYYYYYY” said a fan who couldn’t wait for the battle to begin.

Another fan called it a “CRAZY COMEBACK ‼️🙏” of the Ottawa Senators.

A fan wanted Brady Tkachuk to rest as much as he wanted, “That was a heck of a finale. Rest up, boys. Real hockey starts soon.”
