On August 23, the Cleveland Browns defeated the Los Angeles Rams by a gritty score of 19-17. Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders completed just 3 of 6 passes for 14 yards and was sacked five times. Now, how does a quarterback not get sacked? The offensive linemen prevent the opposing team’s defensive linemen and linebackers from sacking their quarterback. As the NFL’s roster deadline is approaching(4 p.m. on Tuesday), the Browns have released several players, including four out of five offensive linemen who blocked for Sanders .

Fans offer valuable insights to “Shedeur Sanders was set up to fail” X post On August 25, Dov Kleiman , a Sports Media Personality, wrote on his X:

“Awful: The Browns cut four of the five offensive linemen who were blocking for rookie QB Shedeur Sanders in their last game.

• Tackle Sebastian Gutierrez
• Center Bucky Williams

• Guard Javion Cohen
• Guard Dartanyan Tinsley

Shedeur was set up to fail 😔💔.”
Fans quickly reacted to Kleiman’s X post regarding Shedeur Sanders’ performance and the subsequent release of offensive linemen. One fan questioned: “Why would they set him up to fail? Serious question.” Another brought up other examples, asking, “All four also blocked for Dillon Gabriel and Tyler Huntley at times. Were they also “set up to fail”? Do tell.”

A third fan simply called Kleiman’s post: “This is such an awful post.” A fourth fan specifically mentioned Tyler “Snoop” Huntley, stating, “Tyler Huntley played with those same 4 OL and didn’t get sacked once.”

A fifth fan offered a different perspective, declaring that Sanders’ situation wasn’t a conspiracy: “He's a 5th round QB pick. Of course, he was out there during a preseason game with the guys that are probably going to get cut. No conspiracy here.”
image Shedeur Sanders’ fear of getting cut from Cleveland Browns loomsAfter winning 19-17 against the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday, Sanders addressed the media. He spoke about belonging to the Cleveland Browns, and that ultimately it’s not his decision to stay with them. “I think, overall as a player, I’ve put in the work. I feel like everything I do, I try to do it to my best, and that’s all I can ask for. I feel like everybody feels like they should be on the team. If you ask anybody on the team, would they feel like they belong–they belong in their own eyes. I feel like I do, but I’m my own player. I think about myself in a high regard, of course. It’s not my decision.”
