NEW DELHI: In a relief to UP MLA Abbas Ansari , Supreme Court granted him bail in two cases in which he is being prosecuted - a money laundering case and a case lodged against him over allegations that his wife made unrestricted visits to him in Chitrakoot jail where he used her mobile phone to threaten witnesses and officials.
While a bench of Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan granted bail in alleged illegal jail meetings case, a bench of Justices M M Sundresh and Pankaj Mithal granted him bail in the money laundering case. Allahabad HC had denied him bail in both the cases.
