US President Donald Trump on Tuesday issued a fresh warning to Elon Musk, suggesting the Tesla CEO “could lose a lot more" than just the electric vehicle mandates in the upcoming 'One Big, Beautiful Bill'.
Trump, while address reporters at Joint Base Andrews, also lauded the 'One Big, Beautiful Bill' and said that the Senate is going to get the bill passed.
“I don’t want to go too crazy with cuts… Some things have already been cut, which is good. I think we’re doing well, and in the end, we’re going to get it done,” Trump said, before departing for Florida, where he'll visit "Alligator Alcatraz".
Earlier in the day, posting on Truth Social, Trump claimed Musk has received more subsidies “than any human being in history” and suggested that without such funding, he would “have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa.” Trump also hinted at involving the government’s oversight agency, writing, “Perhaps we should have DOGE take a good, hard, look at this? BIG MONEY TO BE SAVED!!!”
The remarks follow Musk’s recent criticism of Trump’s proposed tax bill, which he labelled “utterly insane and destructive,” warning it would kill jobs and damage the economy. Musk has gone as far as calling it “political suicide” for Republicans.
